I was teaching a leadership seminar for a large franchise a few years ago. I noted an important quality of a leader is Integrity. A manager in his middle 20’s asked the question, “What is integrity?” I appreciated that managers’ question. He had never heard the term integrity. We cannot assume everyone on our team knows what integrity means.
Integrity, is “Doing the right thing, even when no one is watching!” Talk about what integrity means for your team. Talk about what integrity looks like when communicating with the customer or a fellow team member, counting inventory, reporting expenses, stewarding our time, handling a mistake, etc. Integrity can inspire a spirit of trust, confidence and security that will bring back life and energy to a team, and set us up for the comeback.
