In my classes, I’ve had the blessing of speaking with people representing all levels of the organizational chart. Whether during a class break, before or after class, people will share their story, their situation and their challenges. From the sum of these conversations I will say this. We have a lot of people starving for a simple word of appreciation from their leader…..or word of appreciation from anyone.
I believe the most powerful two-word phase for a leader is “Thank you.” Whether you are a formal leader with a team reporting to directly you.. or you do not have anyone formally reporting to you….expressing thanks and appreciation to others for who they are, recognizing their value, their performance and how they help and support you….. is vital to creating new energy and setting you and your team up for a strong comeback!
