Some of you may have heard the phrase: Nice guys always finish last. Well, I like what Ken Blanchard says, “Nice guys may appear to finish last, but usually they are running a different race.” True leaders are about serving others and serving their team.
I was speaking at a conference focused Servant Leadership a couple years…and my good friend Dr. Jeremy Couch expressed it so well when he presented. He said: Servant Leaders are “Those leaders who put the needs of their team ahead of their own needs… without neglecting their own needs.” Meet people where they are at, demonstrate extraordinary care and commitment, and also take care of who you are! Be nice to yourself. Nice guys….Nice gals….in the grand scheme of things will finish out on top and bring about the spirit of the comeback!
